It’s summer season here at the zoo, with Heart of Africa now in its third month of welcoming visitors and the zoo also finding itself at the heart of the government’s new vision for the future of UK zoos. In this issue we’re looking forward to sharing even more of Heart of Africa’s secrets, as we catch up with the keepers and discover how the many species are settling in to their new state-of-the art habitats. We’re also uncovering the story of a critically endangered cacti, and sharing other stories from around the zoo, as well as our work out in the field with Kenyan scientists to protect the black rhino.
